Ireland is set to bask in sunshine this weekend, with temperatures climbing to 21°C, although some potentially heavy showers are also on the cards, according to Met Éireann.
Today will be mostly dry with extended sunny periods, though some scattered cloud cover may appear as the day progresses.
Tonight will remain largely dry and clear across much of the country, while western and southwestern regions may experience more cloud and the odd light shower.

Overnight temperatures will fall to between 2°C and 9°C, with the southeast being the coolest and the possibility of fog in some locations.
Any morning fog on Saturday is expected to clear, giving way to a mostly dry start to the weekend, with sunny intervals and highs of 16°C to 20°C, possibly reaching 21°C in some areas.
Some cloud buildup is also expected.
Saturday night should remain mostly dry and clear, although a few light showers may occur early in the night.
Overnight temperatures will dip to between 4°C and 9°C, with fog potentially forming in some areas.
According to Met Éireann, conditions will become more unsettled on Sunday and into the early part of next week, before a return to drier, more stable weather by midweek.

Later on, scattered showers or bursts of rain are expected to develop, with the possibility of some heavier rain later in the day.
Temperatures on Sunday will range from 15°C to 20°C, with overnight lows between 7°C and 11°C. Coastal areas may experience fresh winds.
Sunday night will stay mild, with further showers or occasional rain likely.
