An Irish fire brigade has posted a stark reminder to the public on the dangers of device chargers.
Dublin Fire Brigade posted the footage online, showing how quickly a faulty charger can cause a house to go up in flames.
The terrifying video shows a tablet being charged on a countertop, as the charger starts to smoke and burn, and a small flame can been seen coming from the charger.
Take a look.
Please remember to always charge your devices on a hard, non-flammable surface, with original, undamaged, cables.

And unplug them when they reach 100%.
Imagine this happening under your pillow, or your child’s pillow. pic.twitter.com/TvppVSDaE4

Advice on buying new chargers has been issued by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.
Tips include buying from a reputable retailer, making sure to check that the electrical charger has the CE mark and not buying a cheap, unbranded electrical charger.
