Over a thousand students have taken over the RDS for this year’s Young Scientist and Technology exhibition.
The majority of studies carried out this year relate to the issue of climate change and the environment..
Erin Duke from St. Mary’s Secondary School in Baldoyle, surveyed hundreds of students as part of her project, 'Is Climate Change Changing Me?':
"We found out that more kids were learning on social media about climate change, other than in school," she said.
Some really cool projects on display here at the Young Scientist exhibition including a biodegradable alternative to plastics, the ultimate smart bike lock and the antibacterial properties of tree sap! pic.twitter.com/8ESMYr5vaQ

"We came to the conclusion that we're not learning enough in school, in CSP or Geography, and in the Leaving Cert it's optional, it's not mandatory anymore and we think it should be.
"There should be a subject that's mandatory around climate change.
"It's our problem now, it's now longer adults, it's younger kids than ours."
