Staff were threatened with a knife during the ordeal.
Two men have been arrested following an attempted robbery in Harold's Cross last night.
The pair entered the premises at 9.25pm last night, armed with a knife, and demanded cash from staff.
The men were unable to gain access to the tills and fled the scene.
Gardaí carried out a number of enquiries and arrested the suspects on the Lower Kimmage Road.
Both men were taken to Rathmines Garda Station as investigations continue.
