Pierce Brosnan has apologised to the people of India after an image of him was used to advertise a chewing product linked to cancer.
His picture appears on ads for pan masala - a mix of tobacco, lime, spices and nuts - which is known to increase the risk of mouth and throat cancers.
The actor says he's "deeply shocked and saddened" and that he would never have agreed to promote a product "that is dangerous to one's health".
