Busta Rhymes has been charged with third-degree assault after allegedly punching a man in the face.
Authorities say the US rapper and actor - real name Trevor Smith Junior - got involved in a "verbal dispute" last Friday in Brooklyn, New York.
The victim was taken to hospital and is understood to be in a "stable condition".
A representative for the star has been contacted for comment.
