100 years ago today women in Ireland were granted the right to vote.
The Representation of the People Act was passed on February 6th, 1918.
It followed years of campaigning by the suffragettes, including Hannah Sheehy Skeffington, who broke the windows of Dublin Castle in protest in 1912.
