The Rescue-116 chopper was dispatched to the scene while lifeboats from Dun Laoghaire Coast Guard also attended.
The swimmers were brought safely ashore and no injuries were reported.
In a statement on their Facebook page, Dun Laoghaire Coast Guard reminded bathers of the treacherous conditions at this time of year.
