The proposals for Oscar Traynor road will be put to a vote this evening.
This 42 acre site is already residentially zoned but under these plans, half of the homes built will be privately sold, so the developer can choose the price.
Those bought by the council for social housing are expected they'll cost in the region of €300,000 each.
A number of parties, including the Greens, have already said they'll vote against the plans.
They issued this statement:
"We believe that state owned land in Dublin must be used for public housing: social, affordable and cost rental and that DCC should lead the development of such land to build communities for Dubliners."
Labour's Alison Gilliland thinks it's a bad deal:
"We are trading half of the units, over 400 units, for the development of community facilities because they are not being provided by the Department of Housing.", she claimed.
Tomorrow we'll vote against private development of the Oscar Traynor site.

We have the skills & expertise to develop this site ourselves and central government has to put its money where its mouth is.

Fianna Fail wants the decision deferred, with Councillor Tom Brabazon saying they need more time to consult with locals:
"We have to have buy-in from the locals, there can't be anybody left behind in that regard", he says.
Councillors will vote at their monthly council meeting, shortly after six o'clock this evening.
