Local reps have once again voted in favour of reducing the local property tax for city homeowners by the maximum 15%
The vote was held at last night’s monthly meeting.
34 councillors voted in favour, 21 against - therefor applying the rate reduction and keeping the tax at the same level it was at last year.

It comes despite Dublin City Council asking reps to increase the tax by 15% to help plug a financial hole of €39 million in the coffers.
It says the shortfall is due to a drop in revenue, and extra spending on the Ambulance Service and Fire Brigade.
Cllr Dermot Lacey was among those who voted against the reduction, saying it result in services taking a hit to the tune of €12m:
Councillors have the power to reduce or increase the LPT rate by 15% every year.
