The Department of Health has confimred almost 6,000 new cases of Covid 19.
5,959 cases have been announced with 640 Covid patients in hospital - a drop of 3 on yesterday.
121 patients are in ICU with the disease.
Meanwhile, cronies and administrators are being blamed for the slow roll out of Covid booster shots.
UCD's Professor Jack Lambert says there's also a need to employ anti-viral drugs as part of the response.
He says the virus is moving quickly and the government isn't.
NPHET member Dr Cillian De Gascun says the group does not want to advise the government to introduce another lockdown.
