More than 15,000 people may have been wrongly turned down for a mortgage, loan or overdraft.
It's after a mix up of credit scores during a data breach at the Irish Credit Bureau.
It supplies financial data to 300 banks and lenders for applications on mortgages and loans.
The breach was reported to the Data Protection Commissioner last year.
According to the Irish Independent, 15,238 people may now be due substantial compensation.
