A decision due's soon on the future on the Pandemic Unemployment Payment.
The scheme - in it's current form - is due to expire on August 10th.
The Spending Minister says the payment will be part of the July jobs initiative.
That's being unveiled next week.
Ministers have said they don't want a cliff edge situation for people where the payment ceases to exist.
Public Expenditure boss Michael McGrath wouldn't say whether the rate may be lowered:
