Overall clamping levels went up by six percent last year.

One of Dublin's most historical squares is the number one blackspot for clampers.

Merrion Square South takes the prize as the main blackspot for illegal parking here in the capital.

Almost 47,000 vehicles were slapped with a clamp in 2024 - that's a daily average of 128.

Other clamping hotspots include Clarendon Street, The South circular road and Ranelagh.

Around half of all cars clamped were immobilised for the failure to pay for use of a parking bay or have a valid parking ticket.
