Gardaí are investigating after a woman in her 30s was injured when a firework was discharged into a home.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a woman was seriously injured when a firework was discharged into a home.
The incident happened shortly after 6.30pm in Crumlin, Dublin 12, on Friday, 31 October 2025.
Gardaí had been on patrol near Cashel Avenue at a public gathering near a bonfire.
During the evening, fireworks were discharged and missiles were thrown at uniformed Gardaí, forcing them to withdraw from the area.
An Garda Síochána subsequently escalated their response, deploying Public Order Units who secured the scene and assisted Dublin Fire Brigade in attending safely.
A report was then received of a firework being discharged into a private residence nearby.
A woman in her 30s was injured and treated at the scene by Dublin Fire Brigade before being taken to St James’s Hospital for treatment. Her injuries are described as serious but are believed to be non-life-threatening.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the Cashel Road area between 5.45pm and 6.45pm on Friday evening to come forward.
They are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have camera or dash-cam footage from that time.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Crumlin Garda Station on (01) 666 6200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station,” Gardaí said.
Local Sinn Féin Councillor Daithí Doolan described the incident as deeply concerning and said the misuse of fireworks continues to terrify residents.
“Halloween should be a family-friendly, fun evening for everyone,” he said. “There is nothing in our culture that says we should endanger people or destroy our communities.”
Investigations are ongoing and Gardaí have reiterated their appeal for information as they continue efforts to identify those involved and ensure public safety in the wake of the Halloween disturbances.
