Gardaí say the illegal use of scramblers and quads has become an epidemic in parts of Dublin.
They say crashes involving the off road vehicles have resulted in catastrophic injuries and even death.
Garda Paul Burke from the Roads Policing Unit says he's come across kids as young as six on dirt bikes.
