The nominations were made this morning.
Lord Mayor Caroline Conroy has nominated Swedish environmentalist Greta Thunberg for the Honorary Freedom of the City of Dublin.
The 20-year-old gets the nod along with presenter and environmentalist Duncan Stewart.
The Lord Mayor said she had asked Greta's team some time ago if she would agree to accept the honour and got a reply late last night saying she'd be happy to do so.
They'll join a famous list of Freemen and Freewomen including former US President John F. Kennedy, ex-Dublin Football Manager Jim Gavin and broadcaster Gay Byrne.
This year's nominations will now go forward for approval at the next monthly City Council meeting on Monday.
