It happened earlier this evening.

A fire in Dublin city centre has disrupted Luas services as emergency crews tackle the blaze.

The blaze broke out on Mayor Street Lower at George’s Dock, close to the IFSC. Gardaí and Dublin Fire Brigade are at the scene.

“Three fire engines and senior officers are attending a fire at George’s Dock near the IFSC,” Dublin Fire Brigade said on X. “Firefighters are using 70mm hoses to bring the blaze under control and cool nearby buildings. Gas Networks Ireland has also been called to the location.”

Luas Red Line services are suspended between Busáras and The Point, with trams only running between Tallaght/Saggart and Connolly Station.

A Luas spokesperson said: “Red Line services are currently operating from Tallaght/Saggart to Connolly only. There is no service from Busáras to The Point due to a non-Luas related incident. Tickets are valid on Dublin Bus during the disruption. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
