Gardai are investigating a burglary on Kevin Street last night.
Two armed men entered a house on Merton Park where they assaulted the occupants before leaving the scene in a white ford transit van van.
The man and woman were taken to St. James Hospital where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The incident happened between 11:15 and 11:45pm.
Gardai are appealing for anyone with information to contact their local garda station.
