A man in his 60s has been stabbed to death in the city centre.
The alarm was raised at half two this afternoon, when gardaí were called to the scene of the attack at Robinsons Court on Cork Street.
The victim was taken to St James' Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have been in the Robinsons Court area this afternoon to get in touch.
The scene's undergoing a technical exam and the State Pathologist's office has been notified.
The Garda Technical Bureau's also attending the scene.
Investigations are continuing.
