The guards have swooped on another property in Drogheda.
Detectives investigating the disappearance and murder of Kyran Durnin have today started a search of another property in Drogheda.
The six-year-old boy, who would be eight if he was still alive, was last seen in June 2022.
A missing persons probe was launched last August 2024 before being upgraded to a murder.
A number of homes in the Drogheda area have already been searched - including the former home of the boy’s family.
Gardai say they have started a search of another house- which will be subject to technical and forensic examinations.
A garda spokesperson said:
"Gardaí investigating the disappearance and murder of Kyran Durnin (6 years) have today, Wednesday 26th February 2025 commenced a search of a domestic residence in Drogheda.
"The house will be subject to technical and forensic examinations.
"The purpose of the search is to discover any evidence which might provide us with information as to Kyrans’ current whereabouts or what has happened to Kyran.
"Investigating Gardaí have to date received extensive support from the public.
"Despite the public support and extensive and ongoing enquiries carried out by Gardaí to date, An Garda Síochána has been unable to locate Kyran.
"Kyran would now be 8 years old.
The Gardai also this morning hit out at "ill-informed public commentary" and said that "extensive" public commentary on this investigation is "inaccurate".
"An Garda Síochána is aware of ongoing extensive public commentary on this investigation, including speculation, rumours, and theories on what may have happened to Kyran, most of which is inaccurate and misinformed.
"Such ill-informed public commentary is not only disruptive to the Garda investigations but also adds to the trauma experienced by victim's families."
Officers continue to appeal to the public for information.
