After three months in Brazil - Pat Hickey could be back in Ireland within a matter of weeks.
A Judge ruled the 71 year old should be given back his passport and allowed to leave the country - for medical care.
The former President of the Olympic Council of Ireland will have to pay a bond of over 400 thousand euro to leave Rio.
While the judge noted there was a risk he wouldn't return to Brazil, she said she had to balance this with concerns for his health.
Mr Hickey's always maintained his innocence in relation to alleged ticket touting at this year's Olympic Games.
