The puppies were found in the boot of a car which had been stopped for speeding.
Seven Pomeranian puppies have been found by Gardaí.
They were discovered in plastic container in the boot of a car, which had been stopped for speeding on the M7 in Mayfield, County Kildare on Saturday.
Gardaí apprehended a speeding motorist on the M7 recently. During a search of the car, 7 Pomeranian puppies were found in the boot. Dogs were too young to be separated from mother, weren’t vaccinated or microchipped. They have since been transferred to the care of the KWWSPCA. pic.twitter.com/MqY3PpY1wV

The pups, who were too young to have been separated from their mother, and who hadn't yet been microchipped, have been placed in the care of a local animal charity.
The driver, a male in his teens, was issued with a Fixed Charge Penalty Notice for speeding.
No arrests have been made and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
