Rents have gone through the roof and shortages of properties are the reason.
Rents are now at an all time high and a chronic lack of supply is to blame.
The latest daft,ie report shows rents jumped by a massive 12.6percent in the three months to June.
And that's compared with the same period last year.
The average monthly rent is now €1,618.
Here in Dublin its €2,170 that's up 12.7 percent.
Economist and author of the Daft Report Ronan Lyons said prices have to come down.
While Sinn Fein's Eoin O'Broin said it was the most depressing daft report he's seen.
The figures are the highest record in the daft.ie reports since it launched in 2006.
