Residents could return to Dublin's Henry Street for the first time in decades.
Plans have been submitted to Dublin City Council by a German property company who want to introduce apartments into the area.
Unused floors above a shop on the corner of Henry Street and Moore street could soon become eight new apartments.
There is currently no accommodation on Henry Street and Independent Dublin City Councillor Christy Burke is keen on the idea of re-introducing it and the impact it could have on surrounding areas.
"It has my blessing, there will be a knock on effect and a domino effect if it takes of. It could be the catalyst for introducing this across the country".
The proposed development is for the building at 42-43 Henry Street.
