Gardai can now test drivers for drugs at the roadside.
It’ll involve taking some saliva and will take around 10 minutes for the results to come through.
The test will check for cannabis, coke, opiates and benzos and will come into effect tomorrow.
Its estimated drug driving is a factor in 1 in 10 fatal crashes.
