The best meteor shower of the year will be visible in Dublin skies tonight.
The Perseids, should produce around 20 times more shooting stars than normal tonight and tomorrow
Meteors will be visible all night from dusk until dawn and people won’t need a telescope or binoculars to see them.
Dave Moore from Astrology Ireland outlines what we can expect:
"Tonight Tuesday and tomorrow night Wednesday we expect one of the best shooting star showers of the year, the Perseids, to give us twenty times more meteors than a normal night.
"We could get one or two per minute from dark rural skies.
"They'll appear anywhere in the sky but they do point back to the constellation Perseus in the northeast, hence the name."
