Two men riding a horse-drawn sulky collided with Gardaí on patrol after fleeing the scene of an apparent robbery in Ballyfermot.
It's believed building material had been taken from a van.
The collision with Gardai happened on Blackditch Road.
The men - both in their 20s - were arrested and detained at Ballyfermot garda station before being released.
No injuries were reported and the materials have since been recovered.
A file is being prepared for the DPP and nvestigations are ongoing.
