
The Taoiseach has asked a senior group of officials to monitor the spread of the Indian variant of Covid in Ireland.
The group will report to cabinet within the next two weeks before a further easing of restrictions goes ahead in July.
There have so far been 97 cases of the Indian variant detected in Ireland.
Professor of immunology at Trinity College Dublin, Kingston Mills, says it's already become the dominant strain in the UK.
