Up to 6000 council flats across the city are set to be overhauled by the council.
A new report into the plan is being hailed as a major step forward in redeveloping complexes around the city.
Its been welcomed by the head of the councils housing committing, Daithi Doolan.
The report outlines different funding options for DCC's plan to revamp 101 sites.
Cllr Doolan says it's a radical programme that will lead to an increase in quantity and quality of council homes.
