Costs and the number of homes available both rose over the last year.
The new short term let regulations kick on the 1st of June.
It means that homeowners will only be allowed to let their properties for no more more than 14 days at a time and no more than 90 a year.
According to the Irish Independent, there's been a 20 per cent rise in the number of entire homes available for hire in the cities.
Daily rates in Dublin also increased to an average of 143 euros - compared to 126 euros in December 2017.
