Two arrested after fatal stabbing in Dublin city centre

One man died after the stabbing near Grafton Street in the early hours of Saturday morning.

2 arrests have been made in connection with Saturday morning's fatal stabbing in the city centre. 

Gardaí arrested one man, aged in his 20s, following searches in the city this morning.

A second man was arrested in Belfast by the PSNI, and is being held at a police station in Northern Ireland.

The attack took place in Dublin 2 in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The post mortem of the deceased man has been completed, the results are not being released for operational reasons.

A garda spokesperson has asked any witnesses to come forward:

"Gardaí have arrested a man as part of the investigation into the fatal assault on Anne Street/Duke Lane Upper, Dublin 2 in the early hours of this morning Saturday 15th February 2025. The man, aged in his 20s, was arrested following searches in Dublin this morning, Monday 17th February 2025.A second man has been arrested in Belfast by the PSNI and is detained at a Police Station in the Northern Ireland. The post mortem of the deceased has been completed, the results of which are not being released for operational reasons. Investigations are ongoing.

"Gardaí are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who may have information about any of these incidents or has any mobile phone footage recorded at the relevant locations, and any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area or in the vicinity of Dawson Street and St. Stephens Green at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí," they added. 
 
Anyone who was in the vicinity of South Anne Street or Duke Lane Upper between 2:45am and 3:30am last Saturday morning who may have camera footage, is being asked to make it available to gardai.
