Slane Castle has been confirmed as the venue for the Irish edition of the hit game show.
It's official - the venue for the Irish version of The Traitors has been confirmed, as Slane Castle will host the game show.
Filming has wrapped up on the set for the show's first season, and is expected to hit our screens this year.
It had been rumoured that Slane Castle would be the home of the show - with host Siobhan McSweeney spotted there in recent weeks.
Darren Smith, MD Kite Entertainment, described the veue as 'perfect' for the show:
"Our time in Slane Castle shooting The Traitors Ireland has been a real thrill, the perfect home for this show. We can’t wait for viewers to see all the high drama unfold as our cast banish and murder each other. In the meantime, the incredibly hard-working Traitors Ireland production team and cast are homeward bound for their first proper night's, murder free, sleep."
It'll be a change of scenery for the owners of the castle, who are used to hosting gigs rather than reality TV. However, owner Alex Mount Charles says he's delighted to be involved:
"Slane Castle may be our home, but it was built for entertaining. Having The Traitors here is an enthralling evolution of this theme as the dramatic setting of the castle and its grounds now provide the backdrop for world class entertainment on the screen. The whole team at Kite Entertainment have dug deep on this one," he said.
And it could be there for the long haul too, as The Irish Sun reports the castle would be open to the show coming back in the future.
