Chris Farrell ruled out of Russia clash

There has been another blow to Ireland's preparations to face Russia at Rugby World Cup.

Munster's Chris Farrell has been ruled out of the game, after suffering a concussion in the shock defeat to Japan on Saturday.

The centre came off just after an hour of that game.

Farrell wasn't the only one who was checked for a head injury, Tadhg Furlong was also looked at, he passed his HIA1.

Rob Kearney remains a doubt for the Russia game, he failed his initial HIA but should he pass his next two, he will be deemed fit to play.

Meanwhile, Jordi Murphy has been en-route to join up with the squad, having been left out of Ulster's PRO14 opener on Friday, as a replacement for Leinster's Jack Conan, who's injury sustained in the win over Scotland, means he will return to his province for treatment.
