There were wins on Saturday for Manchester City, Bournemouth, Tottenham and Nottingham Forest.
Manchester City are back on top of the Premier League table after comfortably seeing off Fulham 5-1 at the Etihad.
The Londoners briefly looked like they might make a game of it when Tim Read drew them level after Julian Alvarez's opener. But City would take a somewhat controversial lead into the break when Nathan Ake's header was awarded after a VAR check, despite Manuel Akanji - standing in an offside position - having to jump over the ball to clear a path.
But City made full use of the decision as Erling Haaland scored a second-half hat-trick to see them maintain their 100% start.
Tottenham are just behind them in the table after a Son Heung Min hat-trick helped them to come from behind and annihilate Burnley 5-2 at Turf Moor. Lyle Foster had put the hosts ahead but Cristian Romero's goal sent Spurs ahead at the break, and they were far too strong in the second half.
Chelsea remain in the bottom half of the table after losing 1-0 to Nottingham Forest. Anthony Elanga's well taken goal just after half time was the difference at Stamford Bridge.
While Bryan Mbuemo earned Brentford a share of the spoils in a 2-2 draw at home to Bournemouth.
At lunch time, two sides seeking their first wins of the campaign couldn't be separated. It finished 2-2 between Sheffield United and Everton at Bramall Lane.
Danjuma scored the Toffees' equaliser in the second half.
