It's the news Dublin GAA fans have been fearing today.
It's been confirmed that Diarmuid Connolly has been suspended for 12 weeks.
The news comes, as the Central Competitions Control Committee met on Tuesday evening to review an incident in last weekend's Leinster Championship quarter final, between Dublin and Carlow in Portlaoise.
During the game, in a dispute over a line ball, Connolly put his hand on linesman, Ciaran Brannigan and appeared to push him.
Under the rules, any minor physical interference with an official carries with it a minimum 12-week suspension.
Boss Jim Gavin, who claimed after the game that he didn't see the incident, is expected to appeal the ruling, with the St Vincents man now out of acton until a potential All Ireland semi-final.
