Entries flying in for Dublin Marathon

Get your entries in while there's still time!

That's the message from Race Director, Jim Aughney, ahead of this year's SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon in association with Dublin's FM104.

A record 9,000 people have already entered for this year's which will take place on Sunday the 29th of October. That figure is up fifty percent on the number that were registered this time last year.

In 2016 the event sold out before the closing date with 19,500 entries, making it the largest marathon in Ireland and the fifth largest marathon in Europe.

"The message to get out there is make sure you enter early because it sold out last year in early July," said Aughney.

"At this moment in time it looks like it will sell out before July this year.

"Make sure you don't miss out. There won't be a lottery for entries this year like we had last year. We'll be taking the first 20,000 entries and closing the system after that."
