Kenny Hails "Exceptional Bunch"

Cuala boss Mattie Kenny says a strong finish was crucial as his side retained their Dublin Senior Hurling Championship title against Kilmacud Crokes at Parnell Park. The Dalkey side were cruising in the first-half, but the Lower Kilmacud Road side burst into life to lead mid-way through the second-half.

It was then that Cuala showed their mettle, according to Kenny. "In the last ten minutes, our guys finished really strong. They showed true character."

"We regained the shape of the team, we pulled back out our midfield and half-forwards because we left them a lot of space there after half-time to counter attack us. Once we closed down that space, we got a foothold again for the last ten minutes. They tacked on some really good scores, and we're delighted to run out champions again."

Next up for Cuala is a date with Laois Kingpins Borris Kilcotton at Parnell Park on November 6th.
