Manager Mattie Kenny paid tribute to the determination of his team during a game which was level no fewer than 18 times.
"It was a fantastic game of Hurling, Dublin were playing well, everytime we got a point up, Galway kept responding." Kenny said.
"In the second half, it came down to the goal and I said we needed to get the next score to go four up and that gave the lads the belief to push on.
"The point after the goal was a key point, if Galway had got one back, it would have been two in it with five minutes left."
"An unbelievable evening...an unbelievable game of hurling and brilliant support".
