Ronald Koeman has re-awakened his simmering feud with the Republic of Ireland.
The Everton manager says James McCarthy will miss the next two to three weeks with a hamstring injury.
The midfielder was substituted at half time of Everton's defeat to Liverpool on Monday, and Koeman claims McCarthy returned from international duty in October "overloaded".
Koeman told reporters on Friday: "I am worried because of his many muscle problems but I think he can be back in two or three weeks."
McCarthy will miss Premier League games with Leicester City, Hull City and Southampton while he's also a doubt for the FA Cup tie with Leicester.
