Lisbon to host Champions League final

The Portuguese capital will be home to the tournament from the quarter final stage onwards in a 12 day condensed tournament.

Lisbon is stage this season’s Champions League final on August 23rd.

Istanbul was due to host this year’s decider, but will now stage it next year instead.

The Europa League will follow a similar format, with the quarter-finals onwards being played in Germany. 

UEFA’s Executive Committee is due to ratify the proposals on Wednesday.
