Elsewhere, Arsenal couldn't hold on as they were pegged back by Wolves; it finished 1-1 at the Emirates. Newcastle are up to 15th after beating West Ham 3-2 at the London Stadium.
Brighton scored both of their goals in the second-half in a 2-0 win over Norwich - Ireland defender Shane Duffy got one of them - while Sheffield United were 3-0 winners over Burnley.
