McGee one win away from Australian Open

James McGee won his second qualifying round match for the Australian Open on Friday morning.

The Castleknock man saw off his French opponent in straight sets 6-2, 6-4 in Melbourne.

He now goes on to face Australian Blake Mott who he's is ranked ahead of.

The match on Friday was an excellent one in which the Dubliner looked in full control of.

McGee is now only one win away from the main draw for the event.

Last year, he fell at the final round and will look to become the first Irishman since 2010 to make the main draw..
