It was a busy afternoon of action out in Marino for the annual Dublin Bus/ Herald Dub Stars games.
The Dublin hurlers were defeated by the Dub Stars selection.
Alan Moore gave the challengers the perfect start, scoring a goal inside ten minutes. Dublin responded, and trailed by the minimum at half-time.
But the Stars pushed on, and eventually won by 1-24 to 0-21.
Dublin manager Pat Gilroy spoke to FM104 Sport's Declan Drake afterwards, and he said it was a good early season test.
"I think both teams really went at it, and tried hard."
"There were some mistakes, but you'd expect that at this time of the year."
"But I thought the effort was very encouraging."
The hurlers begin their Walsh Cup campaign against Meath on the 3rd of January at Abbotstown.

There was better news for the Dublin footballers who defeated the Dub Stars by 2-18 to 2-16.
Aaron Byrne got both goals for the Dubs, who led by 11 points early in the second-half.
But three pointers from Jason Whelan and Pat Burke made a real contest out of it in the final ten minutes.
Paul Clarke is once more in the managerial hot seat for the early part of the new season.
He tells FM104 Sport that today provided the players with the chance to make an impression ahead of the start of the National Football League next month.
"We've a nice panel of players at the moment that have been doing a bit of work over the last couple of weeks."
"It was a great opportunity to get a bit of game time into them, and the Blue Stars had some real quality players out there."
"It made for a competitive game."
The footballers begin their O'Byrne Cup campaign on the 3rd of January against Offaly at Parnell Park.
