Munster Destroy Hapless Leicester

All Sport

Munster followed the lead set by Leinster and Ulster in securing a bonus point win in the Champions Cup this weekend. They thrashed Leicester by 38-0 at Thomand Park on Saturday afternoon.

Four early penalties from Tyler Bleyendaal settled the southern province, before Simon Zebo's try gave them some breathing space ahead of the break. Rassie Erasmus's side led 19-0 at half-time.

And they would quite literally double their lead in the second-forty. Two Jaco Taute tries were added to by a late penalty try meaning Munster are in command at the top of Pool 1.

That means it's three out of three for the Irish provinces so far this weekend. Connacht are in action tomorrow afternoon against Wasps, where victory would put them in a strong position at the top of Pool 2.
