Dublin hit the ground running with Walsh Cup win over Carlow
The Dublin hurlers have started the year with a victory.
They are through to the semi-finals of the Walsh Cup following a 0-23 to 0-17 win over Carlow on Sunday.
Diarmuid Ó'Dúlaing weighed in with 11 points as they set up a last four clash with Wexford on Thursday.
Dubs boss, Niall O'Ceallachain spoke to Dubs TV after the final whistle.
"It was a great opportunity there today," he said.
"We've been, obviously like any other team, doing a bit of good work the last four to six weeks, but it's games that lads want to be playing.
"Great to get the starting 15 there, but then we made 9 or 10 subs as well, so for 25 lads to be on the pitch and have minutes, including a couple of lads for the first time as well - overall I'm happy with the day.
"We're out again Thursday now as well, you're trying to manage a lot of variables there and manage people's game time and when they return to training and that kind of a thing.
"There'll be a few more that'll come in for Thursday and a few more of those lads who played there who won't be available for us Thursday, we'll see how we go."
For Dublin it's all about gearing up for their opening league clash, away to Clare in three weeks time.
"First of all, we don't have the luxury of not being right at the end of this month from a league perspective so we need to be ready. There will be lads, as you saw there, lads who played a lot of the games last year, played there and will be out over the next few weeks too, so that we're ready for the end of the month.
"And then you're also trying to give opportunity to lads, so that we have that depth when it comes to it as well, similar enough to last year.
"But we need to be fully, fully ready at the end of this month as well. I think you'll continue to see that mix and hopefully that serves us well.
"There were lots of positives from last year but lots of things that we have to be a good bit better at as well and we're under no illusions there.
"We're not here to win Walsh Cup games on the 4th of January, there's higher ambition there around what we want to do.
"So, lots of positives from last year but ultimately nothing from an outcome perspective as regards to winning the Leinster Championship or winning the All-Ireland Championship."
