Paris Saint Germain set to be declared champions

The French Football League are recommending that Paris Saint Germain be crowned champions.

The Ligue 1 season will not be completed,  after the French government announced that no sport would be allowed, even behind closed doors, until at least September.

PSG led Marseille by 12-points when the league was suspended in March.

Final standings are set to be decided on the points-per-game ratio favoured by UEFA. Unlike in the Netherlands, there will be promotion and relegation.

It’s now up to the league’s board of directors to vote, and a general assembly to sign off on the proposals.
