Rob Kearney has undergone surgery for the second time in two weeks.
The Leinster and Ireland fullback was already in a race against time to be fit for the European Champions Cup semi-final against Clermont Auvergne after he had an operation on his knee in March.
However his hopes look to be even slimmer after Leinster backs coach, Girvan Dempsey, confirmed that Kearney underwent surgery on his bicep last Wednesday.
On a more positive note for Leinster Sean Cronin is likely to be available for this weekend's PRO 12 clash against the Ospreys. He came off the bench last Friday for Leinster 'A' against Ulster Ravens in his first game since surgery on his hamstring.
Johnny Sexton was treated for a shoulder injury during Saturday's Champions Cup win against Wasps but he has suffered no adverse reaction.
Adam Byrne, who suffered a low grade hamstring strain during the match, will miss out this week-end but Dempsey is hopeful that he will be available for selection for the game against Connacht in the next round.
