Both players will be monitored in training this week before a decision is made ahead of the lunchtime kick-off on Saturday.
Robbie Henshaw says Northampton could prove dangerous this weekend.
The Saints come to Dublin for their Champions Cup tie having lost their last four games on the bounce, and with a change of format this season, one more would see their European ambitions end.
Henshaw says that will make them a tough team to play at the RDS.
"We know them well and they have good strength in depth, so what can we expect?" he said.

"We can expect them to come here and just play rugby and have a go. They're not going to have any fear.
"I think for us we really need to be across our work and we need to be ready for them to come out of the blocks and just have a go, so I think they will be dangerous."
Jonathan Sexton and Garry Ringrose are both in contention for the match.
Sexton was a late withdrawal from the bench for the weekend win away to Montpellier with a dead leg.
Ringrose is on the verge of a comeback from a broken jaw.
