
Johnny Sexton will captain Ireland for the Six Nations.
He takes over the reins from Rory Best who retired after the World Cup.
New head coach, Andy Farrell, has named a 35 man squad for the Six Nations.
Speaking about Sexton's new role as captain, Farrell said:
"We have appointed Johnny as captain for the Six Nations Championship, you can see what it means to him and the enthusiasm he will bring to the role.
"He has been developing as a leader for a number of years with Ireland, Leinster and the Lions and he will be a positive voice for the group."

Leinster trio Max Deegan, Caelen Doris and Ronan Kelleher are the new faces along with Ulster's Billy Burns and Tom O'Toole.
Ireland open their Six Nations campaign on Saturday, 1st February with a home match against Scotland at the Aviva Stadium.
